In a low scoring one sided final of the 2011 CLT20, Mumbai Indians Indians beat title favorite Royal Challengers Bangalore by 31 runs on Sunday, 9th October, 2011 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai. MI made 139 all out in 20 overs and RCB all out on 108 runs in 19.2 overs.
Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first and lost 2 early wickets but Franklin 41 and Yadav 24 took them to 139 runs on a tough batting condition. In reply Bangalore got a good start with 38 runs in 4 overs but then lost the momentum against tight bowling by Harbhajan Singh who took 3/20 while Abu Nechim and Malinga took 2 wickets each.
