M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, formerly known as Karnataka Cricket Stadium situated in Bangalore was built in 1969 and got a test status in 1974-75, hosted the match between India and West Indies. That match was also the debut of two West Indian greats, Gordon Greenidge and Viv Richards.
The stadium was renovated before, the 1996 World Cup Quarter Final. The stadium has a capacity of 40,000 and local hero Anil Kumble got his 400th test wicket here.
